A Community Journal presented by Like Really Creative and Prologue Journals

When you join the PostScript Community Journal Club, you become a trusted Guardian of the Community Journal.

Passed from hand to hand, the Community Journal can be filled with whatever inspires you: musings, junk journaling, poems, ideas, sketches.

Find out how it works, join the Club, and get more details below!

Here’s how it works:

STEP ONE:

Sign up on the Guardian List below.

You will receive an email when it is your turn to be the Guardian with instructions on when and where to pick up the Community Journal (in a public Lock Box located on the front porch of Curio Commons).

STEP TWO:

Keep and fill out the journal for up to two weeks. You will periodically receive a few reminders when your time is almost up.

You don’t have to keep it for the entire two weeks. If you feel like you have done your part, pass it on!

STEP THREE:

Once you are done, text us that you have returned the Community Journal back to the Lock Box.

STEP FOUR:

Join PostScript Community Journal Club

To join, just add the item below to your cart and complete checkout, which will require additional details.

You’ll get an email whenever it’s your time to be the Community Journal Guardian.

PostScript Community Journal Club Membership
from $0.00
Limit 1 per order

Upon checking out, we’ll ask for your first and last name, email address, phone number, and Instagram username (so we know you are a real person).

It’s a free membership, but we’d love some support to help keep the project logistics going!

  • One journal that travels from person to person across Memphis. Each Guardian keeps it for two weeks or less and adds to it however they want: writing, collage, junk journaling, sketches, tucked-in mementos. Then, pass it on! Over time, it becomes a shared record of everyone who held it. It’s a collaboration between Like Really Creative and Prologue Journals.

  • Join the Guardian Waitlist on the Like Really Creative site. When you reach the front, you’ll get an email with your two-week window and everything you need to pick it up.

  • It depends how many Guardians are ahead of you. Each can hold it for up to two weeks. If someone returns it sooner, you will be notified as soon as possible. You don’t have to track anything. We’ll email you when you’re up.

  • Nope. There’s no skill bar and no theme to match. If you can write a sentence, glue down a receipt, or doodle in a margin, you can be a Guardian. The whole point is that anyone can add to it.

  • Whatever’s true for you that week. Write, collage, junk journal, sketch, paste in a ticket stub, leave a question for the next person.

  • As little as one line or as much as a full spread. The two weeks are your window. No quotas here!

  • Please don’t, unless you are on pages labeled ADD-ON. Build on the pages before you and add to the conversation, but leave everyone’s work intact. That layering is what makes it special!

General Overview FAQs

Logistics/Safety FAQs

  • It lives in a combination lockbox on the front porch of Curio Commons, 95 N. Cooper Street. You’ll get the code in your welcome email. Pickup and drop-off both happen there. Open the box, take or return the journal, and lock it back up. Make sure to spin the combination code to make sure it’s not remotely close to the code.

If you have issues with the lockbox, send Zack a text and we can arrange a different pick-up/drop-off option.

  • No. Everything routes through the lockbox, so you never share personal information or meet a stranger. That’s intentional.

  • Return it by the end of your two-week window (your exact dates are in your welcome email), and send a quick photo to the phone number provided so we know it’s been returned.

If life gets in the way and you can’t make your window, just reach out. We’d rather adjust than have the journal stuck.

  • We may share photos of pages on @LikeReallyCreative to document the project. If you’d prefer yours stay private, just tell us and we’ll keep it out.

  • Keep it in its protective Prologue bag and it’ll be fine. We also ask each Guardian to photograph their own page(s) before drop-off, so even in a worst case, no one’s work is fully lost.

If the journal is lost, you will be responsible for the $80 replacement fee.
