What is Microboost

Most arts money goes to institutions or seasoned artists.

Microboost is a micro-grant for Memphis artists, especially the up-and-coming, the experimental, and the ones the traditional grant world tends to overlook.

Like Really Creative funds it: $500 every season, guaranteed. The community decides who gets it.

Make something striking.

The Boost · The Winner’s Package

Win more than money.

When you win a Microboost round, you get launched, on top of getting funded. Microboost invests in the whole artist: the work, the story, and bringing your project to the public.

The grant

$500 to bring your project to life, however you need, without receipts.

The exposure

A professional photoshoot, a featured interview, and original video content so the whole city sees who you are, what you made, and how you made it.

The space

Free studio and meeting space at Curio Commons to build the work and gather collaborators.

The moment

A launch party, show, or performance at Curio Commons, where you debut your work to the public.

How it works

Four steps. Easy peasy.

Submit your idea

A short form telling who you are, what you want to make, and how you’ll use the micro-grant to make it.

We shortlist

We read every submission and select the projects that meet the requirements. Fair and open to everyone.

The community votes

Microboost members vote on the shortlist. You don’t need to be a member to apply, only to vote.

04

We fund the project

We announce the funded project, and the grant goes straight to the artists.

Every membership keeps Memphis creativity paid, seen, and connected.


Your membership supports the community, Like Really Creative programming and projects, and the work around them. The grant is funded separately by Like Really Creative: $500 every quarter, guaranteed. Your dues don't fund the grant, but your vote decides it.
