CREATIVES OF MEMPHIS: Suroor

Meet Suroor (@suroor.901)—the premier Pakistani pop princess with a poem on the tip of her tongue.
Why do you think you’re creative?
“I think I’m creative because I’m just inspired by so much art and have so much love for so much art. Ever since I was a baby. When I started creating, when I was a child, that was the first time I like, genuinely experienced a love of life and living and being human and existing.
It feels like the most natural thing to be doing. I have so much curiosity and eagerness to explore. And ever since I developed those feelings, those are just like the only feelings that control my life at this point.”
How do you stay creative?
“Creativity just happens for me. It is just always there. I find it harder to not be creative. Like sometimes I’m like, how do I not be creative? How do I stop this and like, pay my bills and stuff or do like everyday things?
Being creative is kind of just like my main muscle memory, like autopilot mode of being.”
