HOW IT WORKS
Every league night is one game. Speed portraits, tinfoil sculptures, terrible poetry, bad art contests. You play, everyone votes, winners get medals. Points add up all season on a public leaderboard.
A season is four months: three game nights, then Championship Night, which is a tournament anyone in the room can enter.
You do not need any art skill. The games are designed so that skill barely helps. Two house rules: no erasers, and no apologizing for your work.
WHAT IT COSTS
Season pass: $40. Covers all four nights of the season. You get a spot on the leaderboard, a team if you want one, and a guaranteed seat. Rooms cap out; pass holders always get in.
Walk-in: $10 at the door, any night. You play everything that night: the game, the voting, the awards. If you decide to buy a pass later, the points you earned as a walk-in count retroactively, and if you buy the pass the same night, your $10 door fee goes toward it.
Early-bird pass: $35. Available twice: at the season kickoff event, and during the first week passes go on sale. Join the waitlist to get first access.
SOLO OR TEAM PLAY
When you buy a pass, pick one:
I have a team. Register 3 to 5 people together. Pick a team name. Your team competes in the team standings alongside your individual score.
I'm solo, put me on a team. We place you on a team before the season starts. You'll get an email the first week of the season with your team's name, and you'll meet them at night one. You're a full member of that team all season. Most solo players pick this, and it's the fastest way to know people at every game night.
I'm solo, and I want to stay solo. Totally fine. You're on the individual leaderboard, you sit wherever you want, and you play everything. For the occasional team game, you group up with people that night. The only difference: no team standings for you, so you can't win the team award.
Walk-ins without a pass sit at the Wildcards table, a standing team made of whoever walked in that night.
TWO CHAMPIONSHIPS
Points are called Sparks. You earn them by showing up, not just by winning.
Play a league night: 10
Bring someone who's never been: 5
Win a superlative award: 5
Place top three in the night's game: 15, 10, or 5
Complete the monthly at-home challenge: 5
Individual standings and team standings are both public and update the morning after each game night. Team standings use the average per member, so small teams compete on an equal footing with big ones.
FAQs
What if I can't make a night? You miss those points, and that's it. No penalties, no elimination. The scoring favors consistency, so people who show up most tend to lead.
What if my team can't all come? Teams are 3 to 5 people, so one absence never sinks you. Team scores use averages, so a missing member doesn't drag the team down by headcount.
Do I have to perform or present in front of people? Some months, briefly, and always with a room full of people doing the same ridiculous thing. Drawing/craft games are most months, and nobody is put on the spot alone.
Is this for artists? It's for anyone. Plenty of players have never drawn anything since grade school. The games are built for that.
Can I just come watch? Everyone in the room plays. That's the whole idea. The $10 door gets you a seat, supplies, and a spot in the game.
